ANNUAL REPORT, KV, CRPF, AVADI 1-5-2018

It gives me immense pleasure to present the Annual Report of the Vidyalaya for the academic year 2017 -18.

As we turn back to see the year’s actions and achievements, I can proudly say the Vidyalaya is on leaps and bounds and has  completed the year as yet another milestone in the annals of  the Vidyalaya.  The Vidyalaya is strictly adherent to the policies and programmes of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and completes its academic conventions as laid out by the CBSE to which this Vidyalaya is affiliated.

As far as the accomplishments is concerned KV CRPF has yet again proved itself.

  • SMT.SHOBA OOMEN AND MS. POOJA MEENA WERE ACCORDED CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION FOR CLUSTER LEVEL TLM IN MATHEMATICS.
  • MS. POOJA, TGT SST, DEEPIKA KUMARI, TGT ART UNDERWENT TRAINING FOR BASIC GUIDE CAPTAIN COURSE .MS. LAXMI CHAUDARY, PRT UNDERWENT TRAINING FOR BASIC FLOCK LEADER COURSE.

IN THE ARENA OF SPORTS KV CRPF HAS ALWAYS SECURED AN ENVIABLE POSITION

·         Physical education training is imparted to all the students in vidyalaya . Further two coaches are appointed who are experts in football and Yoga and Mr. D Pushparaj  the Physical Education Teacher is a professional in the field of Volleyball .

·         4 students were selected for SGFI , three for athletics and one for football and a total of 25 students were selected for nationals -7 for athletics,9 for volley ball, one for football, one for handball, two for taekwondo,one for shooting, one for kabbadi, one for table tennis, one for boxing,one for kho-kho. In the regional events a total of 23 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 4 bronze medals were garnered.

Under CCA students were exposed to a total of 15 internal competitions and 13 external competitions were children bagged several prizes. Commendable achievement include getting a cash award of 5000/-& 3000/-each for Dr. abdul Kalam Marathon.

·         Riya Vinod of 8C was selected for solo classical dance at National level for KVS Rastriya Ektha Shivir-Ek Bharat Shrestht Bharat and participated in student exchange programme to Jammu and Kashmir.

·         In Primary 44 students achieved success in various activities related to karate. The primary wing has a total of 55 students versatile in Karate.

·         In Classical  group dance competition  conducted by AMN global group the primary wing clinched 2 prize and a cash award of 2000/- at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha.

·         In CMP cluster level sports meet the primary wing retained its first position for the fifth consecutive year.

·         Celebrations of Independence Day, Teacher’s day, Children’s Day ,Republic Day, Education Day,  Constitution Day, KVS Foundation Day, National Consumers Day, Science  wasdone with great fanfare and zeal with the intention of spreading awareness among students and  aiding them to actualize the message inherent to the occasions. 

·         In accordance with the demands of KVS the Hindi Fortnight Celebrations were held from 1 sept’2017 to 15 sept’2017. Shri Prem Chand Bhargav Professor, Hindi Dept, SRM University inaugurated the celebration and competitions were held on a daily basis.

·         All faith prayer was conducted on 22 Feb 2017 in commemoration of ­­­­­­­­­­­Thinking Day and scouts and guides read out verses from various religious texts and students avowed not to resort to violence.

·         Vigilance awareness week was observed from 31 Oct  to 5th Nove 20167 The students, teaching and non-teaching staff took oath and vowed to promote probity and integrity. Inspiring speeches were given by teachers and students. Various competitions were also held and Vigilance awareness week was celebrated .

·         The school is also a proud recipient of award from Bharatha Jeeva Nadi Charitable trust for its generous charity.

·         Great significance was given to the swatch bharath abiyan and the school  responsibly took up the cleanliness drive with in its premises on World Environment Day and the green army contributed a total of 500 saplings and an NGO Takkam also provided 50 saplings adding to the greencover of Crpf .Volunteers from Standard Chartered Bank provided 100 herbal saplings for the vidyalaya.     

·         A healthy mind in a healthy body is the motto. To keep the students away from epidemic, Nelamvembu  was given to students aided by the Corporation of Chennai. Health mix Manna was also given to students and parents alike. Handwash procedure was explained by Shri.Aarif Health Inspector, municipality of Avadi.

·         The Vidyalaya is coming under the Shala Darpan- a comprehensive e- platform facilitated by KVS which has strengthened the resolve of the Vidyalaya to go digital to reap maximum benefits. Now starting from admission to issuance of TC, every activity of the Vidyalaya has got an e-component in it. Comprehensive workshop for the teachers was conducted thrice to equip the teachers.

·         The school is also equipped to handle new strategy of teaching aimed at primary and secondary known as” BACK TO BASIC “for which special training was taken up by an enterprising Mrs  N Valarmathi Principal, Mrs V Nirmala, TGT English and the same was disseminated to the teachers through a no of workshops.

The school  which is  selected for ATAL Tinkering Laboratories with a vision to cultivate one million children in India as neoteric innovators has organized orientation programme for Atal students and teachers at cluster level. Visit was also undertaken to Dell Inc Pvt ltd in Sriperampathur as part of Atal innovation Mission and CSIR, Taramani and Atal Tinkering Marathon was also held.

Three teachers were trained for awakened citizen’s programme and consequently every Saturday is a witness to the programme during the morning assembly. It is meant fot the students of classes VI and VII.

CLUB ACTIVITIES- To foster bonding with nature, to internalize and realize learning in a global out of the classroom context and to develop and sharpen their soft skills and life skills 7 clubs were constituted namely Science Club, Literary Club, Eco Club, Health & Wellness Club, Sports& Adventure, Energy Club and Integrity Club.

·         Eco club pitched in their might for the cleanliness of the Vidyalaya by removing grasses in the vidyalaya premises. They also took keen interest in gardening.

·         Science club raised the inquisitiveness of the students by highlighting facts on Universe. They were shown some amazing scientific working models.

·         Health &wellness club gave the students a hand-on experience by tapping their skills at gardening. Emphasizing the need for organic farming and underlining the demerits of chemical in farming was an interesting perspective. They were also made aware of healthy diet pattern, prevention of obesity, BP-the silent killer and cancer etc.

·         Energy club monitored the judicious use of electricity while literary club enhanced the appreciation of literature among students by conducting talks, debates, speeches, role-play etc.

·         Integrity club continued to nurturefiner human qualities and ethics- the fundamental edifice of society with the goal of nurturing model citizens while sports and adventure club had elaborate discussions on sports and adventure activities feasible for students.

AEP – The Adolescent Education Programme is a UN funded programme aimed at the holistic well-being of adolescents. The programme is implemented for classes IX and X under the guidance of a Nodal trained teacher Mrs. M Padmini,TGT(Eng) . The advocacy session for parents, classroom session and various activities are the key features of this programme.Mrs.Padmini escorted the students to an Aids Rehabilitation centre to create awareness among students.

Scouts &Guides-aims at promoting education of young people through a value system based on the scout promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. Tritiya sopan  testing Camp  for district II was conducted in KV Crpf where 24 students participated. 13 scouts and 11 Guides qualified the TSPL. 5 scouts and 8 guides qualified Rajayapuraskar.  3 scouts and 4 Guides participated for Rashtrapati Award and result is anticipated.Activities undertaken under the aegis of scouts and guides were tree plantation (nearly 50 trees) , rally organized to create awareness about AIDS, Earth Hour to create  awareness plastic free India and assisted in Polio Awareness camp, first aid camp in which 48 students and 5 teachers were trained in the first aid training by St.John’s Ambulance experts and cleanliness drive besides the guard of honour.

28 students have successfully completed TSPL from KV AFS Avadi. 18 students have completed Rajyapuraskar Award and are eligible for Rashtrapathi, this year. Nearly 11 teachers are trained from Basic to Advanced level. Activities undertaken under the aegis of scouts and guides were tree plantation, rally organized to create awareness about AIDS and cleanliness drive besides the guard of honour.

Cubs and Bulbuls-there are 46 cubs and 60 bulbuls. 8 cubs and 8 bulbuls respectively attended the cluster level utsav at KV AFS Avadi on 22-2-16.

NCC-is a voluntary organization in India, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens of the country.50 cadets are enrolled under JD division. Mr.Lalji Ram is temporarily functioning as  ANO and care taker is Tanu Verma,PRT .

PTA-is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers and staff that is intended to facilitate parental participation in school activities by giving suggestions. Parent teachers meeting for classes VI-IX were conducted 4 times, for X and XII monthly  to assess the performance of students. For class XI PTM was conducted formally 3 times and informally teachers called  as and when they felt a student required attention.

Tours and excursions- are an intrinsic part of education. An Educational tour was arranged for the PRIMARY  STUDENTS to the following places- CHILDREN’S PARK & Rail Museum .

Workshops-Workshops are training programmes aimed at development, team-building, improving communications and providing motivation and planning strategies. Workshops are effective in  processing change and achieving improvement, aids in divergentthe creation of initiatives, plans, process and actions to achieve particular business and organisational aims. Workshops are also great for breaking down barriers, improving communications inside and outside of departments, and integrating staff. A workshop on “pedagogy on effective use of ICT in classrooms was conducted by Dr. Prabhu, PGt maths.

To conclude I would like to state that we have met our targets and realized our goals with tremendous satisfaction. The school provides adequate infrastructural facilities, scenic ambience for nurturing the potential of students both in academic and non-academic fields. At this juncture let me render sincere appreciation for the sterling service provided by VMC, Chairman and members alike. We hope to do our best in the coming years in equipping the students of the Vidyalaya to meet the challenges of the future successfully.
